Today, the European Film Academy and EFA Productions announced the official list of 32 films that have been selected for possible nominations for the European Film Award for Best Achievement in various categories. Among the selected is one of this year’s Serbian films – “Father” directed by Srdan Golubović; produced with the support of Film Center Serbia.

 

The second part of the list will be published in September this year, and it will include films that had a confirmed premiere before May 31, either at festivals or in cinemas, but which did not happen due to the current pandemic and epidemiological crisis, providing they did have a premiere (in cinemas or online) by the end of November 2020. Both selections together form the complete list of feature films recommended for nominations for EFA awards. The films were selected by a committee made up of members of the European Film Commission and industry experts.

Father had its world premiere at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, in the official Panorama program. The  film was created as a co-production between Serbia, France, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and with the support of Film Center Serbia. The film was also screened at international film festivals in Sofia, Jerusalem and Cluj (in Romania – Transylvania International Film Festival9, and the Sarajevo Film Festival.
