Films by Branko Radaković at Various Festivals
20.09.2012.

48 films had entered the first ''Online Short Film Festival'', a competition open for all directors from Balkan countries.

Of these, 36 films are from Greece, 5 from Croatia, three from Cyprus and one each from Bulgaria, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia - a film by Branko Radaković “Hello Video Tapes!” that has also been officially nominated for the award in the category of “Art on Video” at the Art Deco Festival de Cinema'', in Sao Paulo, Brazil in July of this year.

More information can be found on the festival website: http://www.altcineaction.com/altcine/home.action

In addition to the “Online Short Film Festival”, Radaković will soon participate in two more festival, with two thematically and formally different films.

First, the short film “The Tourist” that was completed in January of this year, will have its premiere at the Jahorina Film Festival to be held in Pale, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 26th of September.

The film has been selected for the “Short Promotional Film” category and it will be screened alongside other films in the selection, at the Art Gallery “Cekovića kuća”.

The Jahorina Film Festival program can be found at: http://www.jahorinafest.org/page6.html

In early August, his short film “I exist” was screened shown in the 1oth West Herzegovina Fest, and his film “The Voice of God in the People” will premiere as a part of the news program of the XXI International Festival of Ethnological Film which will be held from 11th to 15th of October 2012 at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade.

An interesting thing regarding this 20 minute documentary is its strange fate: among other things, the film was fully edited and ready in early 2012, but it has not been publicly screened anywhere yet. However, in numerous private screenings, the film has already acquired a cult status of sorts with some audiences, in one part because of its ironic black humor, while several serious film connoisseurs have rated it as an extraordinary achievement, since in addition to large doses of irony it carries a serious and difficult message.
