Premiere and Award for “Bridge on the River Ibar”
11.07.2012.

The film “Bridge on the River Ibar,” by the young Serbian-German director Mikaela Kezele, a German-Serbian-Croatian co-production, with the Atalanta production company as the Serbian co-producer, had its world premiere at this year's Munich Film Festival.

The film met with great acclaim. It has received the best film and best actress prize for freedom and human rights, which has since 2002 been awarded by the Bernhard Wicki memorial fund for film productions that inspire and build bridges of tolerance and humanitarianism, awarded to Michaela Kezele and Zrinka Cvitešić, respectively.

Past winners include the likes of “Sophie Scholl”, directed by Marc Rothemund, which was later nominated for an Oscar. The festival jury also awarded a special prize to “Bridge on the River Ibar”.

The award ceremony was attended by representatives from the very top of the German and Bavarian governments.
