World Premier of "Mamarosh" in Moscow

The film "Mamarosh", written and directed by Momčilo Mrdaković, will have its world premiere at the main competition of the Moscow Film Festival, taking place in the capital of Russia from June 20th to June 29th 2013.

"Mamarosh" is a black comedy starring Mira Banjac and Bogdan Diklić.

When middle-aged Pera, a typical mama’s boy (“mamarosh”) living in Serbia with his mother Mara, a staunch communist, wins the green card lottery, the two of them emigrate to the U.S. Surprisingly, the mom is quicker to adapt, in spite of some ideological differences.

This Serbian-German-French coproduction was five years in the making, even though it is produced by the renowned Turkish-German director Fatih Akin, with global distribution rights being snatched up by Wild Bunch. The effort put into the film paid off in the end, when "Mamarosh" was presented at the European Film Market at this year’s Berlinale and immediately picked up for distribution in Germany and South Korea.
