European Summer Film School at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts

The sixth European Summer Film School (ESFS) is taking place
from September 17th to September 21st at the Belgrade Faculty of Dramatic Arts.

This workshop has been established at the end of 1980s, and while it has been on hiatus during the tumultuous 1990s, it has once again been brought to life because of the initiative of Predrag Velinović, director and a professor of direction.

The workshop brings together film students from Belgrade and abroad, and this year’s guests will be students from Hungary, Romania, Israel, France, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Belgium.

The Goal of ESFS is to facilitate students’ understanding of a director’s aesthetics, their auteur experience of a film and their thinking about the world around them, through putting them in direct contact with the film maker. This year, the lecturer of honor at the ESFS is the Slovenian director, editor, screenwriter and producer,  Karpo Aćimović Godina.

The event has been fully supported by the Ministry of Culture of Serbia, the Belgrade City Council Culture Office, as well as CILECT, the film school association.
