Award for Skerlić in Sevastopol

Serbian director Boban Skerlić has won the award for best director at the 12th International War Film Festival Sevastopol, for his film So Hot Was the Cannon. 


This is another in a series of awards for the cast and crew won at festivals where the film has been screened, said Tihomir Stanić, the head of Balkan film production company. 


Skerlić’s film had its premiere in late February of this year at the opening of the 42nd FEST in Belgrade, and it theatrical distribution in Serbia begins on 4th of December. 


So Hot Was the Cannon is a story about a boy of Serbian nationality whose parents were killed in the shelling of Sarajevo. His neighbor, Kadija, a Muslim, takes the boy in, facing the disapproval of many tenants in his residential building for keeping a "Vlach" in such difficult circumstances and prevailing misery.
