International Children Animation Workshop Begins

With the opening of the Ninth International Children Animation Workshop “The Golden Snail”, Vranje will for the following six days, be a center of children animation.

This year's workshop, which will bring together more than 100 participants, animators and speakers from Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia, will begin with an exhibition of photographs, posters, drawings and cartoons to mark the 25th birthday of the Animation School (SAF) in Vranje.

The participants from Serbia, besides members of Vranje SAF, will be young animators from Belgrade, Čačak, Kruševac, Jagodina and Dimitrovgrad.
The workshop participants will be children animators, between 10 and 18 years of age, who will work in groups of three with an instructor – one of the masters of animation, so that, during the festival, each group will make three new films, using three different animation techniques.

The host the International Children Animation Workshop is SAF from Vranje. The festival is financially supported by the Ministry of Culture of Serbia and the city of Vranje.

The Animation School in Vranje is the oldest school of its kind in Serbia, and since 1996 it has been a member of the International Animated Film Association (Association Internationale du Film d’Animation - ASIFA).
In 25 years of its existence, numerous generations of student of this school s have made more than 150 films.
