ECHOES OF SAINT GEORGE

Set in present-day southern Serbia, “Echoes of Saint George” follows Stanoje, a steadfast peasant who refuses to abandon his ancestral land on the slopes of Mount Radan. While taking care of his ailing father, Stanoje is being haunted by Albanian gang that terrorizes him, trying to force him into selling his household. After a tragic night in which he mistakenly kills a GPS-tracked, state-protected bear, Stanoje suddenly becomes a wanted man, pursued by the very system that has failed to protect him in the first place. Hunted by both raiders and the police, he must face the impossible choice of surrender or survival. Only Sonja, a young police inspector, begins to see that the true victim of harassment, violence and corruption is Stanoje himself.
