VIRUS
Short fiction film
12’
A story about violence, transferred from one person to another, connects people’s destinies. Individuals who come into direct contact with violence become violent themselves. “Virus” is a story about our society and people who are surrounded by violence. Adults, parents and professors, as carriers of violence, transfer their behaviour to children. The children themselves transfer their habits learned at home to other children in school. The film plotline is played in reverse, as the story unfolds, and it guides viewers towards the essence of the problem. It exposes the violence, dubbing it a virus that spreads like an infection. From one situation to the next, the director leads us to his protagonists who are entirely ordinary people from our environment. As participants of our social milieu, they are not black-and-white. The two girls, Mina and Milena, express their passive aggression by bullying Fatty. A love affair between a teacher and a female pupil leads to conflict. The teacher Steva, a victim of a violent parent who is a criminal, is left without civil protection by the authorities. The law enforcers, unable to control the criminals, use violence to solve their infirmity. The virus wins. The violence conquers. Can the VIRUS be stopped?
