At the recently concluded FilmFestival Cottbus, which was held i from November 4th to 9th, several films which are majority or minority Serbian production were shown: Whites Wash at 90, Sun Never More, Our Father, The Feast of the Wolf, Divided City of Kosovska Mitrovica and How Is It So Green Here?
As part of the feature-length competition program in which ten films were shown, the award for best director was awarded to the film Our Father, directed by Goran Stanković. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival – TIFF in September of this year.

In the Spectrum competitive selection, the Dialogue for Intercultural Understanding award was awarded to Nikola Ležaić’s film, How Is It So Green Here? which, after its world premiere at the festival in Karlovy Vary, recieved numerous awards, including the Golden Mimosa Award at the Film Festival in Herceg Novi, as well as three Golden Arenas at the Pula Film Festival.

Serbian audience will have the opportunity to see the film on November 21st at the opening of the 31st Author’s Film Festival in Belgrade.
At the 27th edition of the co-production market East-West Connection Cottbus (COCO), the feature film Is The Sky Blue? (Serbia/Slovenia/Croatia/North Macedonia/Greece/Bosnia and Herzegovina/Montenegro), Nikola Ljuca, was awarded. The D-Facto Motion WIP Award, sponsored by German post-production studio D-Facto Motion, amounts to €35,000 in services plus up to €1,000 in additional costs. The award was accepted by producer Nikolina Vučetić (Biberche Productions, Serbia).
The explanation of the COCO WIP jury, which consisted of Aleksandra Cruz (The Yellow Affair), Jana Sari (Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center), as well as Lukas Mudri (Studio Beep) and Robert Wunsch (D-Facto Motion), states the following: “The project touched us with its strong and deeply moving characters, a well-thought-out script and a strong story told in a unique and interesting way. It also deals with a socially relevant topic that seems both current and important.”
The film, under the working title The Rattlesnake, is supported by Film Center Serbia, the City Administration for the City of Novi Sad, the Slovenian Film Center, the Croatian Audiovisual Center, the Macedonian Film Agency, the Greek Film Center, the Audiovisual Center of the Republic of Srpska, the Film Center of Montenegro and the MEDIA Creative Europe and RE-ACT funds.
