The new film by director and screenwriter Vladimir Tagić, Yugo Florida, will have its world premiere on August 21st as part of the Main Competition Selection of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
Tagić, known to a wider regional audience for the well-known television series Tomorrow Will Change Everything, Children of Evil and Sablja, will make his debut in a feature-length feature format with this project.
The screenplay was written by Milan Ramšak Marković, with the cooperation of Tagić, and the focus of the story is the relationship between father and son who, during a trip in an old car, try to find common ground and make up for lost time.
Yugo Florida is an intimate and emotional drama that thematizes the universal human need for closeness and understanding, with a carefully crafted social context. The author states that the story is inspired by personal experience, and the film is characterized by subtle humor through which the director shapes reality with a touch of warmth and irony.
Zoran’s lives with a pothead roommate and a reserved ex-girlfriend. He works on a reality TV channel. His weird but ultimately meaningless life turns upside down after his estranged obstinate father becomes terminally ill, and he decides to take care of him and help him in the last weeks of his life.

The main role is played by Andrija Kuzmanović, a Serbian actor who underwent a significant physical transformation, which was accompanied by a pronounced acting turn compared to his previous roles.
Other roles include Nikola Pejaković, Hana Selimović, Jovana Stojiljković, Vahid Džanović, Snježana Sinovčić Šiškov, as well as other prominent actors from the region.
The film was co-produced by Serbia (Sense Production), Bulgaria (Contrast Films), France (La Belle Affair), Croatia (Eclectica) and Montenegro (Adriatic Western) and was created with the support of Film Center Serbia, the Bulgarian National Film Center, CNC-Cinema du Monde, the Croatian Audiovisual Center-HAVC and the Film Center of Montenegro. It was also supported by the European funds Creative Europe MEDIA and Eurimages.
