At this year’s edition of IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam), which lasted from November 13th to 23rd, within the program selection Paradocs, the documentary-experimental film SLET 1988, directed by Marta Popivoda, was screened.

The film was realized with the support of Film Center Serbia, and after the world premiere in Locarno and the regional premiere in Sarajevo, the Serbian audience could see it on November 26th and 27th as part of the Author’s Film Festival.

A delegation consisting of representatives of Film Center Serbia and documentarians, directors and producers, members of the Documentary Association – DokSrbija, whose films were part of the film market and the other programs intended for film professionals was present at this year’s “Industry” program.

Director Milica Đenić is this year’s participant in the IDFA Academy program, and as part of the Project Space program, she presented her feature-length documentary film in post-production Tale of the Plum Spirit, together with the film’s producer Jelena Radenković.

One Serbian film – The Black Wedding – 7 years of Eternal Mourning – was presented at the IDFA Forum program, more precisely at the Producers Connection sub-program, and was presented by the film’s director Dragan Nikolić, editor and co-writer Dragan von Petrović and producer Jovana Nikolić.

At the IDFA Docs for sale market, in addition to the film SLET 1988, there were documentaries Goodbye Heroes by Vladimir Milovanović, The Divine Feminine by Ivana Todorović and the minority co-production Cinema Under Siege by Srđan Šarenac.

In addition to the aforementioned authors, members of the Serbian delegation included producers and directors Mila Turajlić and Miloš Pušić, who are currently working on several documentary projects supported by Film Center Serbia.

Members of the delegation made contacts with documentary film makers, representatives of festivals, television, platforms, sales agents and distributors and held numerous individual and group meetings with the aim of networking, establishing new contacts and cooperation and promoting Serbian documentary film in the world.

To this end, the newly created and annual catalog Serbian Docs 2025/26 was presented.
