Serbian actor, director and screenwriter Čedomir Petrović died at the age of 76.
Born in 1949, he graduated in acting in 1973 at the Academy of Theatre, Film, Radio and Television in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and went on to play in the National Theatre, Atelier 212, as well as the Yugoslav Drama Theatre, all in Belgrade.
He played his first role in 1964 in the production of “Around the World”, where he acted alongside his father, the legendary Serbian actor Miodrag Petrović Čkalja.
He also left his mark as an actor in the television series and films Theater at Home, Written Off, Hot Wind, Better Life, Truckers, Face to Face, Seven Secretaries of SKOJ, Hot Heads, Golden Sling, Father by Force, Fragrance of Field Flowers, Dr, Arrive Before Dawn and many others. He was the director and screenwriter of the film The Russian Emperor (1993) and the series Some Strange People (2009).
Čedomir Petrović wrote books and columns in the last years of his life. He was the son of the famous comedian and actor Miodrag Petrović Čkalja (1924-2003), and the father of the actress Jovana Petrović.
