ONCE UPON A TIME IN SERBIA

This is a warm human story set between the two world wars in Leskovac, where a real miracle happens with an unusual set of circumstances and builds the history of that small place where great people live. The plot of the film is set two years after World War I, when Dine and Cone, intoxicated with victory and irreversibly infected with the spirit of freedom and progress they felt in the big world, return to dilapidated Leskovac: Dine to his former cinema and Cone to his own funeral. Predestined for losers, they grow into heroes. Cone, with the knowledge he gained in Manchester, started a successful textile industry, turned the wheel of progress and won his fiancée Zorka again. Dine shows movies in his cinema and forever changes the taste of young people, while Zorka and Ružica paint the bazaar with beauty and determination. Along the way, they will record history so that future generations know how Leskovac became the largest small town. Inspired by real events, it is conceived as a romantic, witty and nostalgic story in which small people become hope and bearers of change in Leskovac, especially Cone who knows that a place is as big as the big people who live in it.
