Two films from Serbia were awarded in the Crossroads Co-Production Forum segment of the AGORA industry market, which was held as part of the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
The main award “Two thirty-five” (2|35) for the post-production of image and sound was awarded to the film Silence of Leaves by Serbian director Stefan Đorđević and produced by Dragana Jovović for Non-Aligned Films.
The jury’s explanation states: “Brave, fierce, but deeply empathetic, the film is deeply moving because it puts children and students at its heart. For its unique approach to a deeply personal story that resonates with urgent global relevance, we award the “Two Thirty Five” award for post-production services to the film SILENT LEAVES.”
The Agora Works in Progress Authorwave award for post-production was awarded to the film Promised Spaces (Serbia/France/Germany/Cambodia), Serbian director Ivan Marković.

Authorwave’s post-production creative services award was presented by Liza Hrisoša, Authorwave’s chief operating officer: “We were very impressed with the way this film reflects the social strata of society through a strong visual concept, mis-staging and careful observation of urban architecture. People may share the same frame, but remain disconnected. The Authorwave post-production award goes to PROMISED SPACES directed by Ivan Marković.”
The producers of the film are: Jasmina Sijerčić (Bocolupo Films), Žofi Lili Kovac (Fiskultura Films), Jelena Radenković (Big Time Production), Daniel Mates (Anti-Archive), and the premiere of the film is expected next year.
The SEE Cinema Network awards were also awarded at the festival, each of the eight award-winning projects received awards in the amount of 9,000 euros for development.
Among the awardees are two Serbian co-production projects: TEACHERS’ UPRISING ON A NUDIST BEACH (Montenegro/Serbia/Bulgaria/Croatia/Italy/Slovenia), directed by Siniša Cvetić and EXCAVATORS (Cyprus/Greece/Serbia), directed by Argiro Nikolaou.
