The traditional, one-day event “Night of Serbian Film”, organized by the Network of Cinemas of Serbia and the Film Center of Serbia, was held last night with great success throughout Serbia. In more than 30 cities across the country, 51 cinemas, cultural centers and cultural centers, including Kosovo and Metohija, participated in the “Night of Serbian Film”.

The film “Toma”, screened at Cultural Center “Laza Kostić” in Sombor

On that occasion, the three most watched domestic films from the previous year were shown: “Impure Blood – Sin of Ancestors” by Milutin Petrović, “South Wind 2: Acceleration” by Miloš Avramović and “Toma” directed by Dragan Bjelogrlić and Zoran Lisinac.

The goal of the event was achieved, and that was to popularize Serbian film, with an emphasis on those supported at the competitions by Film Center Serbia, as well as to make contemporary Serbian production inspiring and accessible to as many interested viewers, especially young people.

Gordan Matić, director of the Film Center of Serbia, said about this event:

“The night of Serbian film is one of those manifestations that show how vibrant our film industry is. There is a great need for the audience to see the most successful films from last year again. This year, there were also cineplexes who asked to have the same program of ours, which already shows that it was well designed and led in previous years. It also shows that we have good films, which distribution professionals think our audience wants to see again. It is a great pleasure for me that our audience loves domestic films, regardless of the fact that big blockbusters are currently in full swing. I think we have something to show for. ”
