The third National Film and Television Festival (NAFFIT) commenced in the Zlatibor Cultural Center, and the opening night was marked by the awarding of a lifetime achievement award to the director of photography and cinematographer Radoslav Vladić.

The award was presented to Vladić by Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković, who emphasized the importance of the festival for domestic cinematography and singled out the fact that the work of various film professions is valued at NAFFIT.
“The film is a very complex mosaic that brings together people from different professions – producers, directors, screenwriters, costume designers, cinematographers, masters of photography. I am especially glad that this year’s lifetime achievement award winner is a world-renowned top Serbian cinematographer,” Selaković said.
Radoslav Vladić thanked the organizers and the jury, stressing that he sees the award as a recognition of all those with whom he has worked during his career. “When a person receives recognition for his life’s work, they have to look back a little. Then I see that this recognition also belongs to all the people I worked with,” said Vladić.

Director of Film Center Serbia, Jakov Petrović, pointed out that FCS supported the festival in full capacity this year, recognizing its importance for domestic film and television production, as well as its contribution to the decentralization of cultural content.
“This festival rewards all filmmakers of film and television and works on the decentralization of Serbia, which is extremely important,” Petrović said.
The president of the jury, screenwriter and writer Nataša Drakulić, as well as the special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation, Mihail Shvidkoi also spoke at the opening ceremony.

This year’s NAFFIT takes place as a sign of friendship with the Russian Federation, which is a partner country of the festival. Russian actress Marina Aleksandrova, known for her role as Catherine the Great, addressed the audience in a video message and declared the festival open.

As part of the opening program, an exhibition dedicated to the centenary of the birth of actor Pavle Vuisić was presented, along with a tribute to actress and singer Olivera Katarina.
NAFFIT lasts until September 6 in Zlatibor, and features screenings of Serbian film and television productions, as well as talks and accompanying programs. This year’s edition of the festival brought together filmmakers and guests from Serbia, Russia, China, the United States of America and Europe.
