The project for the film Bauk (initial title: Self Portrait) by screenwriter and director Goran Radovanović, was endorsed by the Bulgarian National Film Center, it was disclosed on the official website of the institution.

On this occasion, Radovanović said: “I am glad that Bauk is supported by the Bulgarian Film Fund, among other things, because it will allow me to use some locations that do not exist in Serbia. Of course, this is also great news for the continued financing of the film, which is becoming a serious European co-production. ”

Bauk was produced by Nama Film, and in late December last year it received support from Film Center Serbia. In addition to Serbia and Bulgaria, the film is expected to be supported by other national film centers in the region.

In an explanation of its decision, the FCS commission pointed out that Bauk is a powerful and multi-layered story about the 1999 bombing of Serbia by NATO forces. The scenario was described as a poetic study of the rebellion against aggression, which speaks the pure, clear and unspoiled language of a child’s worldview. The beginning of filming is planned for the end of 2020.
