As part of the accompanying program of the 73rd Pula Film Festival, the exhibition “Officer with a Rose – Žarko Laušević” opened in the gallery of the Serbian Cultural Center in Pula, dedicated to one of the most important actors of Yugoslav and Serbian cinema.

The exhibition, authored by Milan Rašula, presents an overview of the rich artistic oeuvre of Žarko Laušević through a selection of film and theater posters, photos from the Laušević family’s private archive and archival material. Special emphasis was placed on the film “Officer with a Rose”, for which Laušević was awarded the Golden Arena for the best male role at the Pula Film Festival in 1987.

The program was organized by the Serbian Cultural Center in Pula, with the support of Film Center Serbia, the Yugoslav Cinematheque and the Yugoslav Drama Theater, as well as in partnership with the publishing house Hypatia from Belgrade.

On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, Miroljub Vučković from Film Center Serbia pointed out that the exhibition was not intended as a commemoration, but as a celebration of the life and artistic heritage of the great actor.

As part of the festival program, a monograph “Žarko Laušević” published by Hypatia and Film Center Serbia, edited by Radmila Stanković, was presented. The book brings the testimonies of more than fifty of Laušević’s friends, associates and colleagues, as well as rich documentary material from the private archive of Žarko and Anita Laušević.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until the end of the 73rd Pula Film Festival, which takes place from July 9th to 16th.
