Father, a film by Srdan Golubović to take place at the Panorama selection of Berlin IFF

It has been revealed and confirmed that Serbian film Father by Srdan Golubovic, will be screened at the “Panorama”, the official program of the 70th edition of the Berlin Film Festival. This film was produced as a co-production of Serbia, France, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and, of course, with the support of Film Center Serbia (FCS).

 Father is a film about a man whose children were taken away from him by social services because of poverty. A loser, a rejected and humiliated man, who, through his journey from his village in the south of Serbia to the capital, from one end to the other end of the country, out of protest, dignity, desire to prove himself to others, out of desperation –  becomes a hero.

Goran Bogdan plays the titular role, while the roles of the children were entrusted to Ajla Šantic and Muharem Hamzić, after a casting call answered by more than 250 children. Other roles are played by: Boris Isaković, Nada Šargin, Milica Janevski, Vahid Džanković, Jovo Maksić, Nikola Rakočević, Milan Marić.

The script was written by Srdan Golubović and Ognjen Sviličić, the DOP was Aleksandar Ilić. Editing is by Petar Marković. Costumes by je Ljljana Petrović, and set design by Goran Joksimović and Predrag Petrović.

The film was co-produced by six countries: Serbia, France, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to the Film Center Serbia, the film was supported by: the German MDM Fund, the French Cinema du Monde Fund, the Croatian Fund, the Slovenian Fund, the BIH Fund, Arte France and ZDF Arte, as well as the Eurimages Co-Production Fund. The producer of the film is Jelena Mitrović (Baš Čelik Film Company, Serbia), co-produced with Propeller Film (Croatia), Vertigo (Slovenia), ASAP Films (France), Neue Mediopolis (Germany), SCCA / Pro.Ba (Bosnia and Herzegovina) The executive producer is Igor Kecman.

Film je tokom osam sedmica sniman na više lokacija u okolini Priboja, Zaječara, Knjaževca i Beograda.Traje 120 minuta. Distributer za Srbiju je kuća MCF Megacom Film.
