Well known actor, director and professor Enver Petrovci died today at the age of 72. His artistic journey has left an indelible mark on the theater, film, television and culture of the entire region.

Born in 1954 in Pristina, Petrovci finished high school in Kosovo, and then graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. He spent a large part of his career at Atelier 212 and the National Theater in Belgrade. After the bombing of Yugoslavia, he returned to Kosovo, where he founded the children’s theater “Dodona” and the private Academy of Arts.

The audience remembers him for numerous film and television roles: Better Life, Revolution Boulevard, The Hornet, Three Palms for Two Scoundrels and a Fish, Clan, Crazy, Confused, Normal, South Wind, Shadows over the Balkans, Father. His last role was in the movie The Russian Consul.

As a professor and mentor, he selflessly imparted knowledge and love for art, shaping generations of actors. He himself used to say: “The task of the artist is to reconcile everyone – it is our profession and the call of God. He who does not do this cannot call himself an artist.”
