Serbian director Ognjen Glavnić, known for the films Load and Depth Two, will be a jury member at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival and will decide on the GWFF Best First Feature Award.

Since 2006, when the GWFF Award for Best First Film was introduced, Berlinale has been even more committed to supporting debute fims than ever before. This year’s award will feature 21 directorial debut in Meetings (3 films), Panorama (8 films), Forum (4 films), Generation (4 films) and Perspective Deutsches Kino (2 films) programs. The prize money is € 50,000 and will be shared between the producer and the director of the winning film, donated by GWFF (Gesellschaft zur Wahrnehmung von Film und Fernsehrechten), a society dedicated to safeguarding film and television rights. In addition to Glavonić, this year’s GWFF jury includes Egyptian director Hala Lotfi and Spanish filmmaker Gonzalo de Pedro Amatria.

We remind you … At this year’s Berlin, its world premieres will feature the Serbian film “Father” and the minority Serbian co-production “Malmkrog”, and two special screenings of the cult film “W.R. – Mysteries of the organism “marking the 50th anniversary of the Forum program.
