The Festival of Serbian Fantastic Film, which will take place from September 28th to October 1st, in the Belgrade Cultural Center Hall, has announced an open call for submissions of films that will compete for the O’Scull Award, which is awarded to the best short films from Serbia, the countries of the former Yugoslavia and the world.
The competition will consider films classified fantasy and horror, regardless of production values or budget. The deadline for submissions is August 15th, 2023. Submissions must include English subtitles.
In the Serbian selection, the O’Scull Award is awarded in three categories: best film, best director and best screenplay, and one O’Scull is awarded to the best film from the region of the former Yugoslavia and one additional to a film from the rest of the world.
According to the organizer, the novelty this year is the introduction of a special, small O’Scull for films whose creators are under 18 years old.
Films competing for the award should deal with one of the themes of fantasy (horror, epic, folklore, urban, sci-fi). Full-length films will not be able to compete for this award, but will be shown in the off program of the Festival.
More information about the application can be found on the festival website: Fsffantastic.com.
Films should be sent via wetransfer to the festival email: serbianfantasyfilmfestival@gmail.com, and the file size must not exceed 2GB.
