This year, the Serbian delegation was among the 20 most numerous at the world’s largest documentary film festival – IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam), which takes place from November 8th to 19th
Among the 2,800 guests were representatives of Film Center Serbia, DokSerbia and Beldocs, as well as numerous producers, directors and curators. This year, unlike the previous ones, there were no Serbian films in the official program, but video artist Biljana Tutorov was a member of the jury, Čarna Vučinić and Nađa Lapčević were participants of the IDFA Academy, and films Prison Beauty Contest by Srđan Šarenac and Electric Yutopia by Darko Lungulov participated in the Docs for Sale market program.
Our authors and producers have made great progress in regards to advancing copyright protection, co-production negotiations, and exposure of Serbian films to festivals and television broadcasters. For this purpose, the delegation prepared and promoted the annual Dokserbia catalogue, as well as establishing and renewing lines of communication with numerous festivals and joining various docu-activist initiatives.
