The film Hand of Justice, directed by Nemanja Ćeranić, will be premiered to the international festival audience in the competition program of the 67th International Film Festival in Thessaloniki.
The Hand of Justice is a historical thriller that takes place in Buenos Aires in the 1950s and follows Blagoje Jovović, a member of the Yugoslav Army royalist resistance, who continued his life in Argentina after the Second World War. There, Jovović runs a cork factory with his friend Jakov and tries to build a new life, until a chance meeting with a man wearing the Ustasha symbol opens up the war trauma and brings him back to the events of the past.

When he finds out that Ante Pavelić, the leader of the Nazi-collaborationist Ustashe regime in Croatia, is in Buenos Aires, Jovović starts planning to assassinate him. The film follows his decision to seek justice his own way, but also the dilemmas and consequences that such a decision brings. Through the story of Jovović, the production deals with issues of personal responsibility, identity, revenge and the individual’s relationship to historical events.
The film was shot in Serbia and Argentina, including Buenos Aires, where the part of the shooting related to the key events in the story was realized. Cooperation with Argentinian filmmakers and work on authentic locations contributed to the reconstruction of the time and environment in which the action takes place.

The director is Nemanja Ćeranić, while the co-director is Nebojša Pajkić. The script was written by Mirko Stojković, Strahinja Madžarević and Nebojša Pajkić. The film stars Aleksandar Gavranić, Zlatan Vidović, Tamara Ristoska, Igor Borojević, Samuel Finci, Mladen Nelević, Lucas Ferraro, Miodrag Krčmarik, Slađana Zrnić, Jovan Savić, Ljubiša Savanović and others.

The film was produced by Tracktor Production and TS Media, with the support of Film Center Serbia.
The inclusion of Hand of Justice in the competition program represents an important international platform for the film and its authors. The Thessaloniki International Film Festival, which has been held since 1960, has grown over more than six decades into an important regional film event, with a special focus on the cinematography of Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean. In addition to festival programs, the industrial platform Agora brings together producers, distributors, sales agents, festival selectors and other film professionals, providing space for international networking and presentation of new film projects.
