Dragan Bjelogrlić’s new film, Guardians of the Formula, premiered last night in front of almost eight thousand spectators at the largest European open Film Festival in Locarno.

Right before the start, the film crew led by the director, as well as the French stars Alexis Manenti and Anne Serra, walked the red carpet. The premiere was also attended by Professor Goran Milašinović, author of the novel “The Vinča Code”, upon which the film was based. Young actors Jovan Jovanović, Alisa Radaković, Ognjen Mićović, as well as Maja Čampar were also there on the red carpet.

The premiere of this film within the prestigious “Piazza Grande” program is also the first time that a film from this region has been screened in this selection in Locarno.

“Yesterday’s premiere was a big event, not only for us, the authors of the film, but I think for Serbian cinema in general.” For the first time, a film from our region was shown in front of eight thousand people at the largest outdoor cinema. According to the reactions of the audience, according to how they followed and breathed with the film, I think thatwe can hope that this forgotten story from our, but also world history, will find its way to audiences around the world, and I am very happy about that,” said Dragan Bjeloglić after yesterday’s world premiere.

On the occasion of the world premiere in Locarno, Film Center Serbia organized a cocktail party for the festival’s visitors today on the film square, so that they could get to know the local cinematography and the projects realized thanks to FCS.

After the premiere in Locarno, “Guardians of the Formula” will be shown on August 15th as part of the main program of the 29th “Sarajevo Film Festival”, and from mid-November we can expect it in cinemas in Serbia and throughout the region.

The production companies CobraFilm and United Media are behind this project, with the support of Euroimages, Creative Europe Media, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the Film Centers of Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia and North Macedonia, and cinema distribution is entrusted to Art Vista.
