The new feature film by director Miroslav Terzić 3 Weeks Later will premiere as part of the competition program of the 60th International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary.
The selection of the film in the official competition of one of the most respected European film festivals represents a significant international recognition for the author and the film crew, but also another confirmation of the presence of Serbian cinematography at the world’s most important festival addresses. The festival in Karlovy Vary is the only category A festival in Central and Eastern Europe.

The film follows a group of high school students who, three weeks after the tragic loss of a school friend, embark on a previously planned excursion. A trip that was supposed to be a respite from everyday life becomes a confrontation with questions of responsibility, silence, peer violence and collective guilt. Inspired by real events, the film tells a powerful story about the consequences of a tragedy that society has failed to prevent.
Speaking about the film, Miroslav Terzić points out that his story goes beyond the topic of peer violence and opens up issues of social responsibility:
“Children are not separated from the world of adults; they observe and absorb it. That’s why the story of this film is not just a story about peer violence. It tells about a society that gradually got used to violence and stopped noticing its consequences. It’s like when a fire smolders around us for so long that we don’t even see it anymore, but in fact we’ve been in it for a long time.”

The film stars young actors Jovan Ginić, Anđela Alavirević, Klara Hrvanović and Andrija Marković, while Tihana Lazović Trifunović and Branislav Trifunović play important roles.
The film was produced by the Belgrade production company This and That Productions, with the support of Film Center Serbia, the Cineworld Fund of Luxembourg, the National Film Center of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Culture of Italy, the Croatian Audiovisual Center and the Creative Europe MEDIA program.
Before the selection for Karlovy Vary, the project was already noticed on the international stage, winning the HBO award at the CineLink Industry Days program of the Sarajevo Film Festival, one of the most important regional film markets and places for the development of new projects.

The world premiere of the film “3 weeks later” at the 60th Karlovy Vary festival represents an important step in the festival life of this production and another important presentation of Serbian cinematography before the international audience and the film industry.
